St Joseph's RC Primary School visit

Stephen Hepburn MP for the Jarrow Constituency visited St Joseph’s R C Primary School in Jarrow to recognise the unsung stars who work in our schools as part of a special celebration day.

The Jarrow MP presented a bouquet of flowers and a certificate to Teaching Assistant and Librarian Nancy Pearson at the school, situated on St Joseph’s Way, Jarrow, and Mr Hepburn said the presentation was a great way to make sure the contribution of school support staff is greatly appreciated.

The event was organised as part of Unison’s Stars in Our Schools initiative, aimed at recognising the education system’s unsung heroes.

Stephen Hepburn MP said:

“School support staff such as Nancy at St. Joseph’s do a lot of hard work behind the scenes to help our schools run smoothly and I am proud to celebrate their work as part of this year’s Stars In Our Schools event.

“Unison’s campaign is a fantastic idea for a group of people who do brilliant, tireless work behind the scenes – staff who are excellent ambassadors for the school who go that extra mile to help others and they do their jobs with warmth, friendliness and with a smile.”
