Free TV Licences

Stephen Hepburn MP for the Jarrow Constituency has again voiced his concern that thousands of pensioners in the area could lose their free TV licence.

Mr Hepburn, who has already raised his objections in Parliament was set to do so again in Westminster before Tory Prime Minister Boris Johnson suspended Parliament for five weeks, a decision which is being challenged in the courts.

Stephen Hepburn MP said:

"The latest cruel austerity measure is a scandal and affects 6,000 pensioners  in my Jarrow constituency. The Tories have again broke their promise to the pensioners by making them pay for a right that our Labour government gave them."
